Weekending with Amanda:
It was quiet around here this weekend. Kate and I took a walk to get some yarn wound at our local yarn shop, I got a bunch of knitting in (I will show you on Weds… promise!), and I finished most of the planning for school. This year I have an 11th grader and a Kindergartener. In reality, the plan is to do K in two years, but she is so excited to start “real school” that I’m not telling her that.
On Saturday evening, Amante and I got away to a friend’s end of summer party. There was good food, live music, and great conversation. After talking with Amante’s buddies who were running the sound for the live music, in true introvert fashion, I found a place on the sidelines and hunkered down with a book on my phone! What can I say… I didn’t know anyone there, really, and it was a good book!
Do any of you know of Troll for Trout? They debuted in 1995 and have been mildly popular, especially in Grand Rapids, ever since. We know Michael Crittendon, the lead guitar/singer, because he often works with Amante’s company. Who, incidentally, were doing the sound for the live music! The music was great! Reminded me of going to Festival and hearing them on stage as a teenager.
Today will be another simple one. I’m finishing a bit of last minute lesson planning, we need to get a few groceries, and I’d love to curl up with some knitting.
What have you been up to this weekend?? Do tell…
